POWERTECH PUTS PICBUCKET® 5000 SERIES TO THE TEST, AIMED AT VAST MARKET OF LARGE CONSTRUCTION FIRMS

This is the most powerful version of the percussion bucket developed by PowerTech and is perfectly adapted to infrastructure projects anywhere in the world

Terrebonne (Quebec), May 15, 2008 – Mr. Carol Murray, President and Chief Executive Officer of PowerTech Corporation Inc. “PowerTech” (TSX-V: PWB), is pleased to announce that the Company has begun trials of its PicBucket® 5000, the most powerful of the percussion buckets developed by PowerTech to date. This new version of the PicBucket® will meet the needs of major construction entrepreneurs in carrying out large-scale projects that demand extra power and capacity.

These new buckets are designed for large-sized 20 to 30 ton excavators. Already, PowerTech has received preorders for its new bucket from construction equipment distributors. The first deliveries of the 5000 Series will begin within a few months, notably through the OEM agreements with NPK Construction Equipment and Montabert SAS.

“This marks a decisive step in PowerTech’s development. The largest construction entrepreneurs represent one of the biggest and most promising market segments for the company. This is a highly sophisticated clientele working on major projects where the operating costs are very high and profit margins thin. Thanks to the substantial efficiency gains offered by our technology, we are directly meeting the expectations of these major construction industry players, who are constantly searching for new ways to reduce their costs and increase their operational performance,” said Mr. Murray.

Development of highly advanced technology

The new PicBucket® 5000 Series was designed with the support of highly advanced software programs. This software allowed for the development and manufacturing of the first bucket prototypes within exact parameters, in particular with regard to choice and material resistance, without requiring a long preliminary trial and error process. PowerTech’s new percussion bucket has greater impact and stripping power and clearly allows for improved efficiency levels in excavation and compaction work. The PicBucket 5000 Series will contribute toward achieving the efficiency goals set by managers of large-scale infrastructure projects, the number of which is growing throughout the world.

“Following our technological development program, which is based on the respect of rigorous quality and reliability standards, the PicBucket® 5000 Series and its accessories are now undergoing various qualification tests in the field, in real conditions. We are very confident that these trials will confirm the power and efficiency of our latest product, while allowing us to do, if required, some fine-tuning before a wide-scale market launch,” said Mr. Murray. PowerTech already has three commercial versions of its percussion bucket: the 1000, 2000 and 3000 Series.
